It is with a real emotion that I am writing these lines and the first editorial of the very first issue of QUIRINUS.

Initially scheduled in 2006, the publishing of this online newsletter comes with a few delay. But this time has helped us to create Quirites association and to form the core group which will allow QUIRINUS to live and develop.

Our ambition is modest : to allow our non specialist reader and every person interested in ancient Rome and gallo-roman civilization to read short popularization articles about various angles of this ancient time world.

QUIRINUS will thus, every four months, evoke various subjects, in different fields as institutions, history or roman religion, litterature, cooking ou strategy, etymology, etc.. A due place will be provided to nowadays creations, in French, Latin or in one of the current world languages that are used by all these passionated women and men in touch with QUIRINUS’s team, specially inside Nova Roma.

Last, a few short pages will evoke QUIRITES association’s action and the life of Nova Roma.

Our ambition, dear reader, is thus to draw your attention, then to interest you, so that QUIRINUS become a kind of traveling companion that you will be eager to open again."
